Community Involvement
When you join the First Flight Credit Union Membership, you are also supporting local organizations, which help people across North Carolina. Our mission is to Take Better Care of our Team, Members and Communities, which is why we believe in community reinvestment - giving back to communities which are meaningful to the people who trust us daily.
When you choose First Flight, you are choosing to support dozens of local organizations and programs making our communities better places for everyone. From financial literacy programs in schools, to Habitat for Humanity, First Flight is dedicated to reinvesting in our communities and we couldn’t do it without the partnership with our Members.
Carolina Women's Collective
First Flight has partnered with the Carolina Women’s Collective (CWC) since its year of inception, where connection, collaboration, and inspiration meet education.
Both First Flight and CWC embrace the diverse experiences of female entrepreneurs and business leaders across the Carolinas and beyond, empowering them to thrive personally and professionally. At CWC events, discussions with business leaders in the community sparks creativity, foster meaningful connections, and fuel success through shared growth and support. The CWC has hosted two leadership summits, where First Flight has been a proud sponsor of professional development, networking and collaboration. Junior Achievement
In 2025, First Flight launched a partnership with Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina. For over 100 years, the non-profit JA (www.ja.org) has prepared students with the skills and confidence to pursue economic success. JA programming includes established curriculum taught at schools using their educational kits for the Students, Trained Volunteers and Teachers to ensure K-12 graders have access to essential, life-changing financial education experiences. Together, First Flight and Junior Achievement partners on recruiting volunteers, including the First Flight Credit Union Staff to helps students with skills and confidence they need to pursue economic and life success. The First Flight Business Volunteers bring their own knowledge of credit unions to the students for engaged volunteer sessions.

Military Community Support
First Flight has a deep respect for our Military, and supports active duty and veteran members of the armed forces. First Flight was founded at Cherry Point, NC; our teams look to support organizations which honor those who are serving and have served our country.

Habitat for Humanity
First Flight is a long-standing proud sponsor of Habitat for Humanity, an organization who believes that everyone, everywhere should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. First Flight Credit Union shares the mission to take better care of families in our community and supports borrowers in our community on real estate and lot loans. Together our organizations know how much its means for a family to have a place they can call home.
In 2025, First Flight was a proud sponsor of the 28th Annual Crystal Coast Habitat Golf Tournament, along with Guy C. Lee, to raise $33,000 this year. Brian Sauer, our AVP of Retail, serves on the Crystal Coast Habitat Board and the planning committee of the event. Event proceeds will go to building safe, stable, affordable housing for families in Carteret and Onslow Counties.
