First Flight Financial Literacy Program
First Flight Credit Union’s financial literacy program is an example of our brand promise to take better care of our Members, Teams, and Communities. First Flight focuses on providing new and expanded financial literacy programs to students in K-12 schools in our branch footprint.

In 2025, First Flight launched a partnership with Junior Achievement of Eastern North Carolina. For over 100 years, the non-profit JA (www.ja.org) has prepared students with the skills and confidence to pursue economic success. JA programming includes an established curriculum taught in schools using their educational kits for Students, Trained Volunteers, and Teachers, ensuring K-12 graders have access to essential, life-changing financial education experiences.
Together, First Flight and Junior Achievement partner to recruit volunteers, including associates from the First Flight Credit Union Staff, to help students with the skills and confidence they need to pursue economic and life success. The First Flight Business Volunteers bring their own knowledge of credit unions to the students for engaged volunteer sessions.

First Flight has also partnered with Banzai to fund computer programming on financial literacy in schools across Eastern North Carolina.
Banzai provides classroom-ready digital courses, printable workbooks, and teacher dashboards with progress tracking. With its engaging, simulation-based approach and broad grade-level coverage (elementary through adult), Banzai empowers schools and communities to build essential life skills and provides a meaningful way to promote financial wellness and community engagement.
